PicPak App V1.0.0

PicPak can now show more than your own photos. With Contents, you can choose what your PicPak displays: your personal album, daily art, quotes, fun facts, and more fresh content as time goes on. Pick a content in the app, refresh your device, and let something new show up.

What Are Contents?

Contents are a series of content sources for your PicPak.

Your Album is still where your own photos live. Now, it sits alongside content sources like Daily Art, Daily Quotes, and Daily Fun Facts.

Think of it as a new way to choose what your PicPak refreshes next.

Before You Start

You’ll need:

  1. PicPak app version: V1.0.0 or later

  2. PicPak firmware version: V1.1.19 or later

You can update your PicPak firmware in either of these ways:

  1. Connect PicPak to your computer with a cable, then follow the steps on the web firmware updater.

  2. Connect PicPak to your phone via Bluetooth, then follow the on-screen instructions.

After the update is complete, reopen the PicPak app and make sure your device is connected.

How to Use

  1. Connect your PicPak in the app.

  2. Turn on Cloud Album Sync.

  3. Connect PicPak to Wi-Fi if needed, especially if you removed the device and added it again. Just follow the on-screen steps.

  4. Go to the Content section and choose the content you want to use.

  5. Tap Use in the pop-up.

  6. When the theme shows as In Use in the app, it has been activated.

  7. Press the physical button on your PicPak to refresh and show content from the active theme.

Ways to Refresh

Once a theme is active, you can refresh content in three ways:

  1. Press the physical button on PicPak.

  2. Set a refresh interval in the app.

  3. Open or close the fridge door if you are using the motion-triggered refresh feature.

So you can refresh it yourself, or let PicPak bring in new content naturally throughout the day.

If I Switch Between Contents, Which One Will Show?

PicPak follows the theme that is currently marked as In Use in the app.

If you switch between several themes, check that the theme you want is marked In Use before pressing the physical button to refresh.

How Long Should I Wait After Activating a Content?

In most cases, once the app shows the theme as In Use, you can press the physical button right away.

For the smoothest experience, we recommend waiting a few seconds after the theme switches to In Use, then pressing the button.

If the first refresh does not immediately show content from the current theme, press the button again or wait for the next scheduled or motion-triggered refresh. PicPak will continue pulling content from the theme marked In Use.

Quick Checklist

If your theme content is not showing, please check:

  1. Your PicPak firmware is up to date.

  2. Your PicPak is connected in the app.

  3. Cloud Sync is turned on.

  4. Wi-Fi is connected.

  5. The theme is marked as In Use.

  6. You have triggered a refresh with the button, refresh interval, or motion refresh.

That’s it. Pick a theme, refresh your PicPak, and let something new show up.

We're here to bring forgotten images back into view. The family trip from last summer, the carefree days from ten years ago, the face of a pet you love. So much of it lives trapped on a screen, rarely seen again. We build warm, one-of-a-kind things that pull those moments back into the physical world, where they belong.
